o Saratoga in Saratoga Springs, New York hosts the Travers Stakes, which is the oldest major thoroughbred stakes horseracing in the Us.

o Arlington Park, in Arlington Heights, Illinois face of Chicago is home to the Arlington Million and Secretariat Stakes.

o DelMar, which is north of San Diego, is known as the Saratoga of the West, with many prestigious races, including the 1938 race that one of the most celebrated race horses, Seabiscuit won.

o Oaklawn Park, which was opened in the early 1900's for the Arkansas Derby and champion race horses, Smarty Jones and Curlin have won there.

o Gulf Stream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida was opened in 1939 and hosts the Donn Handicap, which is someone else Kentucky Derby qualifier and this park has hosted the Breeders Cup any years.

When it comes to celebrated horse tracks, the most familiar is probably Churchill Downs in Kentucky, where the Kentucky Derby is run. Even habitancy that aren't familiar with horse racing have heard of the race and the track.

While there are other celebrated horse racing tracks in other parts of the world, such as Surrey, England where the Epsom Derby has been run for 220 years, no other country has adopted the sport, as much as the United States.

The celebrated racetracks in the United States were more popular in the earlier half of the century, when there were few other forms of entertainment, since the television and appeal pictures were not widespread. Some of the most celebrated racehorses rose to fame during the Depression years, and few have gained the popularity since.

The superior horse tracks made of dirt, with glossy mud when it rained, and the smells of the horses, feed and popcorn in the air are gently being supplanted by online horse track betting and simulcasting.

Famous horse tracks could at last become a dying breed like some of the champion racers who ran on them.

Racing Cars - Calling The Tune.1976 Video Clips. Duration : 4.32 Mins.

They were signed to one of the biggest British record labels of the time, Chrysalis Records.[2] Racing Cars debut album yielded their only hit single with "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?". It reached number fourteen in the UK Singles Chart in 1977, and was inspired by the film, They Shoot Horses, Don't They?. Touring to promote their debut releases, Racing Cars backed Bad Company in 1976, including dates at Earls Court and the York Theatre Royal. Without any similar further chart appearances, Racing Cars ultimately acquired the dreaded one hit wonder label. However, the band was sufficiently established on the touring circuit to issue two further albums. These never reached the same commercial heights, and Racing Cars split up for the first time in the early 1980s. Those albums included bit parts for the session pianist Geraint Watkins; American saxophonist Jerry Jumonville; The Bowles Brothers Band (on vocal harmonies); and, perhaps most significantly, the former Swinging Blue Jeans member, Ray Ennis. After they parted, lead vocalist Morty has sung backing vocals for artists including The Beach Boys, Tina Turner and Bryan Adams. Of their reformation, he said "We were a bit reluctant. We're a bit long in the tooth and a bit out of touch but we finally said yes". They continue to play gigs across Europe, after reforming in 2000 with a new album, Bolt From The Blue and a gig at the Cardiff International Arena. Their most recent album Second Wind was released in October 2007 ...
